Lumber estimating is more than just a takeoff of quantities. This system is designed for commercial, residential and multi-family wood framing takeoffs with tools to estimate all dimensional, manufactured wood products and Glu-Lam beams. Structured for 3 floors. Wood framing sometimes goes to 5 floors with special engineering. Creating a separate project for floors 4 & 5 solves this issue.

Floor Joists (all types) and Rafters are an R/L takeoff for the sole purpose of producing accurate takeoffs in the least amount of time because the success ratio is far less than 100%. Individual takeoffs are built into the system, if the company is awarded the job, for producing actual lengths for specific areas of joists and rafters.

Easy sizing modifications of standard lengths for studs and posts (92 1/4 or 92 5/8 as an example) and material definitions (DF, Southern Pine, Spruce, etc) are handled in the Excel Workbook. The Excel Workbook (Lumber List) is managed by VBA code because it has approximately 3500 lines in it.

Besides structural lumber takeoff capabilities a complete set of exterior finish takeoff tools are provided for siding, soffits, fascia & barges, detailed corbels and many other similar items. These materials are easily identified by material and surfacing as appropriate.
